More Marble in Colorful Frames!

The earlier set of frames comes in two styles, with drop shadow and without. These are all about the drop shadow look, which I found distinctive.
They also come in 2 formats, Digi (no background) and Print. Hands-On artists will find our "JPG Print Version" links of use, while our Digital style artists may want to go for the "Digi PNG Version" links.
Today's post features our drop shadow variety only, and in color ways not featured with this pattern before.
Made from an antique book's leather cover plus a second antique book's marble front cover, we've combined the two and then played with color, shadow, and so on.
There are 6 colors being offered in both the Digi and the print formats.
Hope you have fun working with our various colorways! And you know what I'll be trying next--the purple. ;)

Happy Creativity!

More Primary Color Fun!

Once again, we find ourselves taking our inspiration from the Gingersnap Creations design team. And what a great idea! It's such a great idea, I couldn't stop playing around with the theme myself!
This time, we feature 4 different ways you can pattern those backgrounds. Come to think of it, these might do well as fabrics for paper doll type dressing, both in collage and in paper dolling it up.
Hope you'll enjoy playing with our newest addition to this fun and vibrant theme of the primary colors of yellow, red and blue.
For more of our stock in their theme, go HERE. All elements we're including for this theme are matching, so you hopefully won't find one blue item, let's say, not matching another item of the same color.
In other words, they all match and mate just like a good line of kids' clothing! ;)
And do check out all the doings at Gingersnap--they've really got more fun than you can shake a paintbrush at! ;)
Oh--one more thing. We've grayed the margin area of our last offering in order to allow the white checks to stand out. Hope you won't mind using a little extra black ink in the print.
Happy Creativity!
Rose

Our First Wallpapers--Steampunk Style!

Steampunk Wallpapers for your computer desktop!

Yesterday was a good day for me to hunker down, stay out of the sun (97 degrees!), and play around with a new idea: wallpaper!
Our stats show a number of you like Steampunk so well, you want to use it in new ways, including in wallpaper, stationary (we posted some a while ago HERE), photo frames--the list seems endless!
So here we have our first offering of wallpapers for your computer's screen, all credited to yours truly.
All were done in a scaled down way, at 72 dpi rather than our for-print and Digi 300-720 dpi offerings. If these had been made for your use with digital means or to be print-worthy, I'd have given them the same treatment, but trust me, they would only end up looking messy or grainy on your monitor otherwise (there are only 72 pixels per square inch to most monitors, not including medical and other industrial style new tech advances which most people will never see, let alone handle).
I had a lot of fun playing with this one, so I hope you won't mind how many versions of the same theme, colorway, and so on, are posted here! Just call me wallpaper crazy!--and Steampunk theme crazy too! :)
To see the entirety of our currently posted Steampunk stock, go HERE, where you'll find even a background or two, along with clip art, including some Digi style items for you to use--all free of course! That's the PPS way.
Happy Creativity!

P.S. Please note I have copyrighted each of these. Which means, though they are available to be used by others, you may not sell them or repackage them in any way, much less claim them to be your own work.
Furthermore, the artists of the digital brushes used for these items have their own rights to consider. They were the ones who offered free use of their brush packs, but only after much work by them.
The rights to use their brushes freely, and for any purpose, is for a price.
As we intend our studio to remain a free graphics site, we ask that you obey copyright or intellectual property rights laws, when consider how to use our items.
This is the right of any artist, no matter their position in the arts.
We respect the rights of others, and hope you'll do the same.

Primary Color Fun!

Our friends at Gingersnap Creations are always coming up with new ideas for using color, materials, themes, and good products. We're following them again this week with their salute to children via the three primary colors of red, yellow and blue. Last month, we were all about Steampunking it up online, with lots of somber tones with aged metallics, so this truly is a nice way of working in full blown color again.
Below, you'll find we really stretched ourselves this month with a larger than ever offering to fit our theme. It's taken 3 days to prepare this one, but it was sheer pleasure all the way around.
There are two background collage pages, along with our first ever homemade clipart alphabet in red "Dotted Swiss."
Digi artists will find more than one way to go, while our Hands-On or Print crowd can easily utilize all but our 3D style alphabet. We're sorry about that last bit. One of the digital processes used produces a strong shadow effect which did not reproduce well enough to make it print-worthy. In the final analysis, we decided to offer that 3D alphabet in Digi format only. But all the rest of our designs print well enough that you should have very little, if any, difficulty there.
All designs were executed from the ground up, from the patterned works they were based on. We had a little help, of course, from Digi Brush Artist, missgmoore. Also, our alphabet is based on a Digi font called Carbono, which the fine people over at dafont.com offer for free, along with lots of other choices. Hope you'll visit all 3 links we've listed here when you get the chance.
Happy Creativity!

Leather Cutouts & Frames

These leather cutouts remind me very much of the crafts projects we kids used to run across when still in grade school. When I wasn't on the playground, or running through a sprinkler, I generally had a mind to get crafty, and I'll bet most of you felt the same way.
Our sets today include both Digi and Hands-On varieties to choose from. In them, I think you may find there's more to play with than usual. This leather just begged to be played around with, and using the "cookie cutter" features in PSE8 became the fun way to go.
I love doodads, don't you? ;)
Lots of 'em here, along with a few frames, a background or two, and so on.
Digi artists, please make certain you click on the link marked "Digi PNG", and Hands-On artists may want to look for the label, "JPG Print."
Hope you'll enjoy playing around with our autumn cutouts, frames, &c, right on into our upcoming season.
Happy Creativity!

Leather Look Frames with Marble Detailing

Good morning! What a fine summer morning it is here, too! Hope it's a lovely day wherever you happen to be as well.
This time, we offer a new set of frames from our PPS Originals lineup for use free online or elsewhere.
You may print, alter, etc., any one or all of these frames. What we ask is that you never repackage them for sale. In the spirit of fairness, we ask that you also remember always to please give credit where it is due whenever using any of our original clipart or ephemera items. You might want to consider encouraging others to find us here online at PPS as well- we love our new visitors! And Thank You for taking these few easy steps to ensure fairness in our blogosphere.
Below, you'll see we've thought of both our Digi and Hands-On style artists, making it possible to use every choice two ways. If you're into using digital means for your artwork, make sure to click on the "Digi PNG" heading's link for items without any backgrounds for you to get rid of. And, if you like the Hands-on approach best, be sure to click on the "JPG Print Version" heading's link for your printable choice(s).
We offer this one in 2 styles (2D and 3D Looks) and 4 colorways, with other colorways planned for a future post or posts.
Hope you enjoy our new way to frame out your artwork, and, as usual, we wish you---
Happy Creativity!
Rose

Scattered Leaf Design 3 Ways!

Well, all's back to as normal as it ever gets here at our Studio. I've got one funeral behind me, and one wedding ahead of me. This is an eventful summer, to say the every least! From grieving to rejoicing, all in one short season. Let's hope the rest of our year lets me catch my breath better.
As promised, the flawed item from 5 posts ago is now up and ready for use. You can look for it to be posted within minutes of this post going up.
This time, we've added more color choices in 3 new "flavors."
Also, for those of you who took my word for it that all's well with the originals in this particular post, please note I found 4 more errors and have fixed them for you.
Guess I've been overly distracted of late, including today, when I was rushed off my feet with the comings and goings of 5 separate visitors. Glad I caught the error margin before I would have misled any future visitors here.
Hope you'll enjoy all of our scattered leaf design versions!
As for this blog's hostess, I'm ready for some down time in preparation for tomorrow's wedding. *whew!*
Happy Creativity!
Rose

Antique Birthday Greetings: For the Musically Inclined

Good Morning, all! It is heading for 8:00 Studio time, and it's a bright day out. The sun was hidden behind a few clouds on and off over the past 24 hours, now showing its bold self on a new school day. I had a chance to watch a whole parade of young people head up the hill with their new attire and books yesterday morning. Guess our new fall season is well on its way in now! And it's a great time of year to have a birthday as well.
Tucked away in the archives here at the Studio is a miniature treasure trove of fun ways to send our best to those we love at birthday time.
Today's is dedicated to my oldest and closest friend of many years, whose birthday was celebrated earlier this month, and who just happens to be musically gifted. Happiest of Birthdays, my friend! May you have many, many more to come! :)
And Happy Creativity!
Rose
